HECTOR GUIMARD RESEARCH (KEY DESIGNER)

The first and most important key design in Art Deco's journey was Hector Guimard. The leader of the design so to speak. He prompted the most crucial milestone in Art Deco's journey - the Decorative Arts Society. A brief overview I have developed from research is below.

Hector Guimard (1867)
  • Born in 1867
  • An important French architect and designer
  • Influenced by a Belgian designer and architect Victor Horta
  • Most famous work is the Paris Metro entrances
  • Worked with iron, steel and color in architecture left an influential ripple
  • Founded the Decorative Arts Society

All I need is examples of his work whilst connecting all the dots in his life. Only by doing this will I be able to understand this reason for founding the society and to compare and contract him with the other key designers - Eugene Grasset and Raoul Lachenal.
